​Sonya Kenkare writes picture books and middle grade science fiction. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and the Speculative Literature Foundation. She completed the 2022 Desi Kidlit Mentorship and 2021 SCBWI Mentorship programs. When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying life with her daughter and husband in Illinois and working as a physician. She also enjoys just how colorful life can be and is an avid gardener and painter.
