D. Gonzales Montaño is a writer of Mexican-American descent. A Colorado native raised in New Mexico,
D. Gonzales Montaño’s prose is grounded in the mythos, culture, and dust of the Southwest.

She has penned two novels, Speaking in Tongues and Burying the Dead, and believes the hardest part of
writing begins after you type: THE END. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Literature/Writing from the
University of California, San Diego, and is a graduate of the University of Denver Publishing Institute.

D. Gonzales Montaño currently lives in southern Colorado, where the American Great Plains give way to
the mighty Rocky Mountains: It is a place of transition.
She rides a dirt bike, loves the ocean, and is a lousy cook.
